Toy Story is an animated adventure/comedy film, released in 1995 by Walt Disney Pictures and produced by Pixar Animation Studios. It was the first feature-length film to be entirely made using computer-generated imagery (CGI).
The story centers around Woody, a pull-string cowboy doll who is the favorite toy of a boy named Andy Davis. Woody's world is turned upside down with the arrival of Buzz Lightyear, a modern space ranger action figure who believes he is a real astronaut. Initially rivals, Woody and Buzz must work together when they are separated from Andy and find their way back home. Their journey teaches them the value of friendship, loyalty, and the importance of understanding each other.
The film was directed by John Lasseter, who was instrumental in its development. Toy Story was a technical milestone, pushing the boundaries of CGI and animation technology at the time. It required innovative software and hardware solutions to create the realistic yet fantastical world of toys coming to life.
